I have more to say about my experience accompanying cattle call auditions today, but for now here is this.
This one very socially awkward Asian kid sang part of Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar. It now stands as my favorite thing that has happened to me ever. I am probably going to write a surrealist play about it. We’re talking magic. Tempos all over the place. The screaming at the end. Oh my god. I can’t even talk about it. I thought I would die from sheer joy. I thought I knew true happiness, but I was wrong until now.
